4-6 September 2019, Climate Change International Technical and Training Center (CITC) under Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) (TGO) together with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) organized the workshop on “Climate Change Adaptation: Climate Change Adaptation National Plan Formulation, Implementation and Framework of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)” for Southeast Asian countries at Mercure Bangkok Siam, Bangkok.
The objective was to learn key elements of designing evidence-based climate change adaptation, impact assessment, prioritization of climate change adaptation in national plans through mainstreaming, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of adaptation; and enhance practical knowledge on planning adaptation and M&E of adaptation at national level. There were 30 representatives from 7 ASEAN countries include Cambodia, Philippines, Lao, PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
In this regards, Ibaraki University, Soka University, JICA , Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning, Kasetsart University and TGO delivered lectures on concerned topics. There were group discussion and group work and experience exchanging between adaptation experts and training participants.
In addition, The participants went to field trip at the Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park, in the topic " When infrastructure design meets climate change: “Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park”- When flood and park made something amazing."
