Climate Change International Technical and Training Center (CITC) under Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) (TGO) together with United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Regional Collaboration Centre (UNFCCC-RCC), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP), Department of Environmental Quality Promotion (DEQP) Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University and The Thailand Research Fund (TRF) organized The 4th CITC Regional Conference 2018 on “Accelerating the Paris Agreement Implementation through Climate Finance, Technology and Capacity Building” during 17-19 July 2018, at Pullman Bangkok King Power.
In this regards, Dr. Wijarn Simachaya, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental delivered an opening speech for the conference, Mrs. Prasertsuk Chamornmarn, Executive Director of TGO, Mr. Yoshinori Suga, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan in Thailand and Ms. Lovita Ramguttee, Deputy Resident Representative, UNDP gave welcome speeches. There were 170 representatives from international organization, Thai and ASEAN member states joined the event.
Mr. Jens Radschinski, Head, UNFCCC-RCC and Colonel Dr. Settapong Malisuwan, Vice-Chairman, National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC), Thailand delivered Keynote speeches. In addition, representatives from international organization, Thai and ASEAN member states also share and discuss on climate change mitigation and adaptation actions through Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), climate finance and approaches to access climate funds and lessons learned on technology and capacity building on mitigation and adaptation.
19 July 2018, The participants went to field trips at the Metro Forest Learning Center by PTT Reforestation Institute which was established for increase green space, to create sustainable forestry
as well as absorb carbon dioxide.
